Monsul beach is accessed via a long rough and stony road, which also leads to 2 other beaches. There is a smallish car park at the beach, for which since 2010 a charge is payable. It is advisable to get there early in the morning to avoid disappointment. The beach has a large rock which splits the beach in two and unusual rocky overhangs, both of which can offer shade from the sun, if required.

Monsul beach has been made famous for the film “Indiana Jones and the last crusade” in which Sean Connery (Jones’ dad) frightens seagulls up into the path of an enemy plane whose pilot is intent on shooting them both.
